Wireless internet is useful in rural area and where broadband cable line facility not available. Wireless internet also useful for those who are doing movable job through their laptop.

1. BSNL : BSNL is offering third-generation(3G) Internet service in the country! The Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) service, which BSNL is now offering in Most Indian cities, is third-generation (3G) Internet service. It easily connect to desktop and laptop usb post. very handy and easy to use. but signal problem is main problem to this device so before buying check signal strength from bsnl office in your area.
a) Speed : Upto 2.4mbps! average speed 100 - 800kbps depend upon signal.
b) Price : Rs.3500 + Activation RS.500
C) Monthly Bill: Rs.550+ tax = Rs618 Unlimited Use.

BSNL NIC CARD : Network Interface Care(NIC) Data Services on CDMA 2000 IX by using BSNL Internet Connect Card (ICC). The CDMA IX ICC will provide Internet Service @144kbps to computer users on their laptops as well as on desktops. This service will be available in all those locations wherever CDMA IX MSC based coverage is there. It look same like bsnl EVDO card. Same speed on their wll phone also.

Faster Wireless Internet with Tata Indicom Photon+ Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) has announced its new High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) wireless solution called Photon+.
The company claims this new service to be 20 times faster than the existing mobile wireless technology offering data rates up to 3.1 Mbps. It is compatible with both laptops and desktop PCs. The Photon+ service will be accessible via both USB Modems and Routers, thus catering to consumer and business segments.
It offers dual compatibility between HSIA and CDMA 1X coverage/mode.
The main problem is this device is in initial stage and service is available in very few cities. and unlimited plan give only 10gb data transfer of Rs. 1250 and price Rs.3500.

Actual internet speed will be dependent on multiple factors like time of the day, number of simultaneous users, web page accessed etc.
No doubt BSNL is the cheapest in all other wireless internet. If possible go for wired connection.
